Fading Places

Signals Creative Tech Expo, Oct 3 - 12, 2025 | DigiBC Studio, Vancouver, BC

An otherworldly storm changes the city of Vancouver overnight, transforming its buildings into surreal, sentient spaces.

Fading Places is an interactive graphic novel that explores the joys and hardships of life in the city, asking how we shape the places we inhabit, and how they shape us. Written and illustrated by a team of local artists, this anthology story celebrates the magic in the mundane, blending illustration, animation and games into an all-new webcomic format. Audiences can explore the world of the story and discover narratives happening in the background, able to catch a glimpse of Vancouver’s hidden gems or visit them in-person for exclusive stories in Augmented Reality. Fading Places is an intimate look at the places we call home, for however long we have them.
